Making your store more accessible

Everyday activities like shopping can present challenges for some customers. There are many small actions you can take to make your stores more accessible, benefiting your customers and colleagues now and in the future.

The Association of Convenience Stores (ACS) has launched the Everyone Welcome guide, a new comprehensive guide for retailers on how to provide excellent customer service for all customers including the millions of customers with disabilities and different needs.

The new best practice guidance outlines a number of considerations for retailers and colleagues on how they can adapt their behaviour and practical changes that they can make to their store to improve accessibility. The guide has been developed in consultation with the Alzheimer’s Society, Business Disability Forum, Age UK and National Innovation Centre for Rural Enterprise.
