Street Intervention Services Officer

Lewis is part of Bristol City Council and Avon & Somerset Police’s team of Street Intervention Services officers, an additional resource funded by and focusing solely on the Broadmead, Bristol City Centre, and Redcliffe & Temple BIDs. He is in Broadmead two days each week.

Lewis is our main point of contact for street-based welfare concerns. He can visit businesses to talk through the issues and options, provide support to identify the individual or individuals involved, liaise with other agencies like St Mungo’s outreach team and the police, and even take enforcement action on our behalf when appropriate.

Using his expertise and experience, Lewis flags up problem areas to the Police Community Support Officers, which ensures they prioritise businesses with the most pressing concerns.

Lewis can also support on enforcing Civil Injunctions, Criminal Behaviour Orders, Community Protection Warning and Community Protection Notices.

If you have issues or concerns, please email sophie@broadmeadbid.co.uk or speak to Andrew, our retail support ranger, either of whom can put you in touch with Lewis.
