On Thursday 4 March we sent a newsletter to over 13,100 subscribers.
The objective was to let shoppers know about the essential retailers open during the national lockdown, as well as the cafes and restaurants offering takeaways and deliveries, and to remind them about the fantastic range of shops in Bristol Shopping Quarter they’ll be able to visit again once the national lockdown restrictions are lifted. We took the opportunity to encourage visitors to shop safely and follow the stores’ COVID-secure procedures by social distancing and wearing face coverings.
All Broadmead BID retailers were invited to submit content, including online deals, good news stories, shout-outs for their teams, and any virtual activities and events they have planned. We worked with Visit Bristol to create a competition that was launched in the newsletter, giving away eight prizes from their online shop (a guaranteed way to increase the open rate!) and we also had features on Mother’s Day, Back to School, and charitable fundraising activities undertaken by some of our essential retailers in recent weeks, plus a short-term parking offer from NCP.
You can read the newsletter HERE.
Our next newsletter will be sent out after Easter when we hope to have a confirmed date for the reopening of non-essential retail. If you would like to be featured, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more.
