Christmas Challenge Trail – Nov/Dec 2023
To encourage families to explore more of Bristol Shopping Quarter when they visited the Christmas market, from Saturday 25 November until Christmas Eve, Sunday 24 December, we ran an exciting interactive trail featuring 10 locations spread out across Broadmead, The Galleries and The Arcade.
The trail worked by utilising contactless QR codes, without the need for players to download or sign up to anything.
Participants looked for 10 Christmas door artworks, scanning the QR codes to meet the residents behind the doors. Each resident had a festive challenge for them and a prize! These included AR characters, selfie masks, puzzles, riddles, ebooks and more.
221 players took part in the trail, walking 880,001 steps and burning 45,000 calories.
Organised by High Street Safari, the Christmas Challenge Trail was similar to the Paranormal Pumpkin Patch and The King’s Wardrobe trails, which we ran in the summer and autumn respectively. A total of 576 players took part in those trails, walking 2,304,000 steps and burning 116,000 calories.
