In October 2020, we teamed up with Visit Bristol’s Tourist Information Centre for a competition, giving away four vouchers (1 x £100, 1 x £50 and 2 x £25) to spend either in their shop in The Galleries or online. The objective was to raise awareness of the Tourist Information Centre, which has recently moved from the Harbourside, and of the fantastic range of locally-designed and produced gifts they sell. We received 2,070 entries, with each non-winning entrant emailed a single-use 15% discount voucher to redeem in the shop or online.
The decision to make the vouchers redeemable online as well as in the shop meant we didn’t have to extend their validity period when the second lockdown was announced and several orders were received within the first few days of them going out.
The competition was launched in a newsletter, achieving one of our best ever open rates, and promoted across the @bristolshopping social media channels with daily posts shining the spotlight on the different artists and makers whose work can be found in the Tourist Information Centre.
